The Kurdish Question: Why Federalization In Syria And The Creation Of A Kurdistan Is A Very Bad Idea

By Brandon Turbeville

Shortly after the Russian entrance to the Syrian theatre, American media became full of stories praising the heroism of the Kurdish fighters battling against ISIS in areas such as Ayn al-Arab (Kobane) and others. From stories promoting the fighting prowess of the Kurdish brigades to cleverly created propaganda campaigns regarding female Kurdish fighters, the Western press, including the alternative media, was full of stories telling Americans that the Kurds were the real victims and the real heroes of the crisis. This propaganda campaign came about the same time that the Syrian military began making serious gains against Western-backed terrorists with the help of Russia. Thus, as America’s terrorists began losing the war, America produced another “freedom fighter” poster child – the YPG.

Removing Offensive Monuments

The eyesore presidential libraries

The social justice warrior charge to purge the United States of all monuments relating in any way to the Confederacy has been rapidly expanding to include the scourge represented by all white people all through history.

Now, I would suggest that turnabout is fair play so if we are all agreeing that monuments must be destroyed to right historic wrongs, I am interested in making up my own little list based on the things that I disapprove of. As readers of this site are aware, I am a critic of illegal behavior by the United States government, to include torture, targeted assassinations by drone and starting wars without any reason to do so, so that would be a good place to start.

Bahrain’s king denounces boycott of Israel, says citizens free to visit Israel

Bahrain’s king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah has called for an end to the Arab boycott of Israel, days after the Israeli premier said relations with the Arab world were better than any other time.

According to Israeli media, King Hamad’s made the remarks at an event hosted by pro-Israeli group Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, calling for diplomatic ties to be established with the Israeli regime.

King Hamad also told Simon Wiesenthal Center director Rabbi Abraham Cooper that Bahraini citizens are free to visit Israel as they please. His stance on Israel was welcomed by the Israeli center's director who hailed the monarch as "ahead of the pack and smart."

SENATE CAMPAIGN FACES SCRUTINY OF STRATEGIST’S WORK FOR SAUDIS

A U.S. Senate campaign faces controversy after the Boston Herald published a story on a key strategist’s participation in a Saudi lobbying campaign against the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA).

Massachusetts state representative Geoffrey Diehl, who is running for the 2018 Republican nomination to oppose incumbent senator Elizabeth Warren, hired Holly Robichaud to serve as a campaign strategist. 28Pages.org previously reported that Robichaud, a political consultant and columnist for the Boston Herald, registered in October 2016 as an agent of the Saudi government.

JASTA cleared the way for 9/11 victims and insurers to sue the kingdom for its alleged support of the September 11 attacks. Robichaud was among some 70 political influencers across the nation pressed into service by Qorvis MSLGroup as the firm scrambled to unleash a broad attack on JASTA on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

During this campaign, Geoffrey Diehl needs to be asked hard questions regarding the joint commision of war crimes by Saudi and US troops in Yemen.

And please do mention that:

1. Saudi troops have methodically killed, and maimed for life, innocent Yemeni children, women, and the medically fragile elderly with their bombing runs.

Yemeni children killed and maimed for life from Saudi bombing runs in Yemen

2. Saudi troops have closed all Yemeni ports, so no food can get in. Now, Yemeni children are starving to death from malnutrition.

Images: children dead and dying from the consequences of malnutrition

3. With starvation comes disease, so cholera has swept up hundreds of thousands in an epidemic of huge proportions.

Syria’s Victory in Deir Ezzor

The Tide is Turning against the Deep State NWO.

The Syrian Arab Army have achieved yet another dramatic victory this time lifting the ISIS siege of the heroic city of Deir Ezzor. For years Deir Ezzor has been surrounded by enemies and under siege first by the FSA and Al Nusra and then by ISIS. They have withstood repeated attacks by the US-NATO air force most infamously last fall when the Americans bombed Deir Ezzor right after agreeing to a ceasefire, a treacherous move that paved the way for a nearly successful ISIS offensive to capture the city. The brave defenders of Deir Ezzor withstood these endless attacks becoming a symbol of the heroic resistance of all of Syria. For years Syrians and their friends around the world have dreamed that one day this siege would be lifted. Our dreams have finally come true and faster then anyone could have imagined.

Government Won on 9/11… The rest of us lost…

16 years later, the War on Terror™ has yielded hundreds of thousands of dead and injured Americans, Iraqis, and Afghans, ongoing and intractable wars disguised as nation building, the Patriot Act, illegal executive actions, trillions in new federal debt, vastly increased federal surveillance powers, rubber stamped FISA court warrants, TSA at the airports, a useless Department of Homeland Security, overflowing VA hospitals, and increasingly militarized police here at home. More importantly, it has yielded a distressing complacency toward grotesque federal power. -- It has not yielded peace, or liberty, or security. But liberty vs. security was never the choice.

Iraqi parliament votes to remove kirkuk governor from office: lawmakers

Iraq’s parliament voted on Thursday to remove the governor of Kirkuk from office following a request from Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, according to several lawmakers who attended the vote.

The decision to remove the governor, Najmaddin Kareem, comes after Kirkuk - an oil-rich province claimed by both the central government in Baghdad and the autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq - decided to take part in a referendum set for Sept. 25 on Kurdish independence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And, following this story, comes the next troubling headline, regarding the fractious state of Iraq:

Iraqi Kurd President says ties with Baghdad are Cut over Sacking of Kirkuk Governer

So, when this comes to a military dustup between the Kurds and the Iraqis, over what has been traditionally Iraqi soil since 1923, where does the US government come in?!? How do they back the Kurds without causing a civil war between the Kurds and Iraqis over this?!?

The short answer is, the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of America cannot possibly back them without alienating the Iraqi leadership, big time.

Perhaps someone should have mentioned this possibility before the concept of an Independent Kurdistan, created to balkanize Iraq, was signed off on by the Pentagon, State Department, and White House.

Iraq could well have a new civil war on its hands, insuring a more permanent, and muscular, US troop strenth here.

But hey; this is all about Kirkuk's oil; who controls it is of no real interest to the Deep State in America, as long as the US gets to insure that all the oil in Kirkuk is controlled by US-centric corporations, and is only sold for the US dollar.

Yemen's Houthi leader says could target Saudi oil tankers if Hodeida attacked

Yemen's Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi said on Thursday his group could target Saudi oil tankers should Saudi Arabia attack Yemen's main port at Hodeida.

"We could target Saudi oil tankers and we could do anything, we have not done this before," he said.

In a televised speech, the leader also said his group's ballistic missiles were capable of reaching the United Arab Emirates' capital of Abu Dhabi and anywhere inside Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A couple of years ago, Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman must have thought that a military attack against Yemen, to eradicate the Shia Houthi rebels there, would be a "walk in the park" for the Saudi military.

However, thousands of deaths of innocents, and immesurable joint Saudi-US warcrimes later, coupled with successful attacks against Saudi Arabia proper, if he is in any way sane, he may just be thinking differently.

I have no way in which to estimate the Houthis' weapons capabilities; but this rhetoric demonstrates that they are in this battle for the long haul.

SAUDI ARABIA CRACKS DOWN ON DISSENTING CLERICS AMID RUMORS OF CROWN PRINCE’S RISE TO THRONE

SAUDI ARABIA ARRESTED A trio of prominent clerics last weekend, a sign that the kingdom may be preparing for the formal ascendance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, known as MBS, who is a key decision-maker on the country’s domestic and international affairs but is technically subservient to his father, King Salman.

Salman al-Odah, Awad al-Qarni and Ali al-Omary were arrested with little explanation over the weekend, but activists suspect that their failure to follow MBS’s hawkish line on Qatar played a role in their imprisonment.

Human rights activists told the Wall Street Journal that al-Odah’s arrest came after he declined to come out in support of the Saudi government’s actions against Qatar.

On September 8, al-Odah tweeted a fairly banal message hoping for reconciliation between the kingdom and Qatar. “May God harmonize between their hearts for the good of their people,” he wrote:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like the bloodlust of The Saudi Warlord, and Butcher of Yemen, Prince Salman is pushing him, yet again, over the edge, and will soon declare war against Qatar.

What he has accomplished in Yemen, I am quite certain he wants to accomplish in Qatar:

Images: Yemeni children assassinated or maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi bomgings

Images: Yemeni children dying from complications of malnutrtion, due to Saudi military blockading the ports

Images: starving Yemeni children now dying of cholera

To all Qatari parents; however you can manage it, get your kids out of that country and into a safe haven; what awaits Qatar, in this madness, will be precisely the same fate as you have seen for the Yemeni children, in the images above.

United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia Threaten U.S. Interests And Mideast Peace With Attack On Qatar

Oil-rich Saudi Arabia wants to rule the Persian Gulf and the United Arab Emirates wants to rule Riyadh, indirectly, at least. Both states desire to impose their will on neighboring Qatar, whose independent foreign policy irritates entitled elites not used to criticism let alone opposition. But so far the two nations’ efforts have done little more than strengthen Qatar’s independence and expose their own hypocrisy. Washington should continue to mediate, while making clear that the fault mostly lies with the aggressive and repressive Saudi-Emirati axis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question has to be asked; what precisely is Saudia Arabia and UAE actually prepared to do, in this move against Qatar, and what is their timetable?!?

IF the US and Kuwait are incapable of mediating this mess, then it is only a question of when the bombs start dropping on Qatar.

And I have to wonder; what are the orders given to US military commanders at
the 21 billion dollar Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, should such a scenario unfold?!?

China Backs UN Call for Justice in Yemen; US, Saudis Object to Move

Calls by the UN human rights chief to set up an international inquiry into war crimes committed in the Saudi War in Yemen are nothing new. A sudden endorsement of the move by China may give this effort a new lease on life, however, after being quietly killed in recent years.

This is the third straight year right chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein had made such a call, and the last two times, the US and Saudi Arabia buried the idea, agreeing the Saudis could investigate themselves in the war. The civilian deaths have continued to mount.

The latest draft, from Canada and the Netherlands, was seen as likely heading to the same fate, but China’s endorsement, and declaration that they believe the resolution might help push end the war, gives it yet more credibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Fingers crossed that Chinese involvement on this issue, at the UN level, will give it more street cred, and at least slow down the slaughter/genocide in which the US and Saudi Arabia have been indulging in Yemen.

I get very frustrated that I am a citizen of a country for which, at the highest level, the commission of war crimes is morally just fine.

Turkey Signs Russian Missile Deal, Pivoting From NATO

ISTANBUL — In the clearest sign of his pivot toward Russia and away from NATO and the West, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Tuesday that Turkey had signed a deal to purchase a Russian surface-to-air missile system.

The deal cements a recent rapprochement with Russia, despite differences over the war in Syria, and comes as Turkey’s ties with the United States and European Union have become strained.

It is certain to stir unease in Washington and Brussels, where officials are trying to keep Turkey — a longtime NATO member, and an increasingly unlikely candidate for European Union membership — from entering Russia’s sphere of influence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Too late on that last one; Turkey is now definitely "Under the influence" of Russia, as witnessed by this deal.

Syria Summary – A New Clash Looms in Syria’s East

When the Islamic State siege on Deir Ezzor was broken by the Syrian Arab Army we asked:

Will the SAA cross the Euphrates at Deir Ezzor to retake the valuable oilfields east of it? Or will it stay south of the river and leave those oil fields to the Kurdish U.S. proxies in the north?

To cross the river is clearly desirable but also potentially contentious.

Since then several convoys of military bridging equipment have been seen on the road to Deir Ezzor. It is now obvious that the SAA will bridge the river (all regular bridges have been destroyed by U.S. bombing) and send significant forces across. New questions now are: When, where and with what aim?

The hatched areas of the map show possible next aims for the U.S. proxy campaign (yellow) and the Syrian government forces (red) in their fight against ISIS (grey) and against each other.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question in my mind is not a question of if, but when US forces connect (unpleasantly) with Russian and Syrian forces over these oil fields.

War with Russia could be triggered on many fronts, like Ukraine, Iran, or Syria; it appears that those in the Bowels of Power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, are thinking seriously about the best scenario to "sell' to the American people as the justification for doing this.

Unfortunately for them, however, the citizens of this country have become very war-skeptical and war-weary, and are beginning to demand of those power brokers in the USSA, that they resolve their geopolitical differences with true diplomacy, and rational, moral hard-won negotiations, rather than through bombs and bullets.

The cost, in American blood and American money, has just been far too great to continue upon this path to national economic self-destruction;and remember that no 16 year-old teenager alive today has ever lived on a planet where the USSA wasn't at war, declared or undeclared, with some other country.

State Dept Approves $3.8 Billion Arms Sales to Bahrain

The US State Department has approved $3.8 billion in weapons sales to the tiny island nation of Bahrain. The Pentagon confirmed the approval and the State Department has notified Congress, who held up a similar sale last year over Bahrain’s many, many human rights problems.

The $3.8 billion sale is almost entirely going to Lockheed Martin, who will be providing 19 F-16V fighter jets, along with substantial upgrades to the nation’s existing fleet of F-16s. Raytheon will be selling 221 anti-tank missiles to go with it.

Sales to Bahrain were supposed to be suspended, as Sen. Bob Corker (R – TN) had threatened to hold them all up until they resolved tensions with Qatar. In the end, however, Congress is said to have signed off through normal channels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a "double Picard face-palm moment", at velocity, upon reading this.

It's truly ironic: the issue of "human rights", which the US government bandies about as "problems' for countries where it wants regime change, never seems to be an obstacle, when the State Department signs off on huge purchases of US weapons by some of the most revoltingly dictatorial regimes on the planet, such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, due to what the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America get out of those relationships.

The Al-Khalifa monarchy, and its corrupt, violent crackdown on peaceful, democracy-centric protestors is well documented.

These people are thrown into prison, tortured into confessing to crimes they did not commit, then sentenced by kangaroo courts to huge amounts of prison time in the worst imaginable prisons on this planet.

But hey, because Bahrain is the home to the Navy's 5th Fleet, that makes the torture, and the vile suppression of human rights coupled with assassinations of the Country's Shia majority JUST PEACHY, in the eyes of my government.

So by the US government's obscuring Bahrain's in-your-face human rights crisis, it has now paved the way for huge defense corporations to be able to sell them weapons, isn't that just wonderful!

No, this is not "wonderful"; this transaction is a bloody stain upon the collective moral conscience of this country, if this country still even has something like this left, which I have to question.

'Horrific' accusations of torture, sex abuse in Bahrain

Bahrain has brutally cracked down on opponents over the past year with security forces jailing, torturing, and sexually assaulting more than 160 government critics, rights groups said on Thursday.

Between June 2016 and June 2017, at least 169 Bahrainis have also been threatened, harassed, and banned from leaving the Gulf island nation, Amnesty International said in its report, 'No one can protect you': Bahrain's year of crushing dissent.

"We have heard horrific allegations of torture in Bahrain. They must be promptly and effectively investigated and those responsible brought to justice," said Philip Luther, Amnesty's research and advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa.

"The government of Bahrain has managed to crush a formerly thriving civil society and reduced it to a few lone voices who still dare to speak out."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word, please.

Today you held a press conference with Emir Al-Sabah from Kuwait.

You also mentioned Bahrain by name, as being one of America's BFFs in the region.

So here is what must be the quid pro quo for you: you have bonded our country, geopolitically, to a barbaric dictatorship which rapes, beats, hangs, and tortures peaceful demonstrators, in return for the continued use of its housing the US Navy's 5th Fleet.

Historically, those in the bowels of power in the Deep State of the Unhinged, Surveilled, States of Amerika, have had absolutely no qualms about getting in bed with dictators, if those country's dictators suit Amerika's needs. Look at Pinochet's Argentina, and the Shah's Iran, for unequivocal proof of this.

But Mr. President, at what moral cost to your Presidency, have you done this?!?

The realities of the brutality of the Sunni Al-Khalifa monarchy toward their Shiite minority have been thoroughly documented; there is no room for saying that this is not happening.

When this country gets cozy with dictatorships, for various geopolitical gain, it broadcasts that those alleged American ideals of democracy, human rights, and freedom of speech are simply a charade, to be well and truly flushed, when a "deal" can be made with a foreign dictator; the US relationship with Bahrain, given its appalling human rights record, is one of those moments when the hypocrisy of such actions is laid absolutely bare, for all the world to see, Mr. President.

9 THINGS THE MSM DOESN’T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THE WAR IN YEMEN

About two and a half years ago, Saudi Arabia started bombing Yemen and began an occupation to prop-up the puppet government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The Saudi’s air strikes deliberately target homes. Tens of thousands have died. Millions are at risk of famine. The siege has triggered a globally-unprecedented cholera epidemic. And people can’t even flee the country because the airport is closed at the behest of Saudi Arabia.

Corporate media barely covers Yemen at all. Not only do they leave many key pieces of information out, they blatantly lie to reinforce their imperialist narrative. Here, Geopolitics Alert will attempt to debunk many of the most common myths and explain the truth.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The other things that MSM doesn't want you to know are as follows; and warning: the images used are highly graphic, but I have deliberately chosen them to bear Christian witness to what is happening here.

1. The US enables the Saudi genocide in Yemen by selling them the weapons, and providing "guidance" to their airstrikes. They strike homes, markets, hospitals, with absolute impunity. And here is the devastation those airstrikes create:

Images: Yemeni children murdered and maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi Airstrikes

Please remember; this genocide is created, in part, through your tax dollars and in your name.

2. Because Yemeni ports are being blockaded, through US/Saudi troops, no food can get in, so children are not dying from complications of malnutrition.

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition

And of course, with malnutrition comes disease: Yemen is now facing one of the most severe epidemics of cholera (and perhaps, a weaponised strain) with grownups and children dying in staggering numbers every day:

Images: Yemeni adults and children, stricken with cholera

And not content with that, the Saudi military has used depleted uranium weapons in Yemen. This poisons babies in the womb, and leads to massive birth defects; stillbirths; and massive cancers.

Images: Yemeni infants deformed through exposure to depleted uranium in the womb

And not content with THAT, Saudi soldiers have been using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen. These weapons burn flesh right though to the bone:

Images: Saudi soldiers using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen

The stark, hard reality here, is that the government of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America have been colluding with the Saudis by partnering in war crimes with them; there is just no other way to say this, than to blurt it out.

I am profoundly, morally uncomfortable being a citizen of a country, and government, which indulges in war crimes, as though it is "no big deal"; unfortunately, Mike and I are too old, and too broke, to be able to immigrate to a civilised country which does not engage in war crimes.

But having colluded in the creation of war crimes in Yemen, both President Trump and Saudia Arabia's Prince Salman, the principal architect of these atrocities, now deserve new titles; for President Trump, it is Merchant-of- Death-in-Chief, and for Prince Salman, the principal architect of these atrocities, it is the Butcher of Yemen.

#ISpeakforButhaina: Picture of girl in Yemen goes viral

Buthaina Mansour was the sole survivor of a bombing in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, that killed her entire family. An image of her trying to open her eyes despite her injuries has gone viral on social media as a symbol of solidarity with the people in the war-torn country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congratulations to his Royal Highness, Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for whom the world can now add yet another honorific to his name: that of the Butcher of Yemen.

An image of one more innocent toddler, maimed for life, and bereft of any family whatsoever; one has to wonder as to the horrific extent of this man's bloodlust, in light of the fact that his Saudi military are killing innocent babies and toddlers; women; and the medically fragile elderly in Yemen, in addition to the Houthi Rebels.

Because the Yemeni ports are closed, so no food can get it, Yemeni children are starving, and dying from complications of malnutrition; and now, is experiencing one of the worst epidemics of cholera the world has seen.

You have allowed your troops in Yemen to use both depleted uranium weapons, causing massive spikes in birth defects, stillbirths, and cancers here, as well as white phosphorous, which burns to the bone, and for which there is utterly no remedy.

And President Trump, you, sir, have enabled this genocide as the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America has authorized billions of dollars in arms sales to this country;

US approves a $1.4 billion sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia

And by doing so, you have distinguished yourself as the Merchant-of-Death-In-Chief of your country: congratulations to you also, Mr. President!!

What we have in Yemen, with US government enabling, is the massive, full-blown, in-your-face commission of Saudi war crimes, with utter impunity, and zero morality, Mr. President: there is no other way to say this.

And every single respected expert on the Middle East consistently say that the resolution of the hostilities in Yemen must, ultimately, political, rather than military.

History will not judge either of you you kindly on this, Prince Salmon, and President Trump.

Prince Salman, you will be remembered as Saudi Arabia's War Crimes Prince"

And President Trump, you will not be remembered as a "War President", but as a "War Crimes President" for these atrocities, visited upon the people of Yemen.

Please understand: I am a Christian pacifist activist, who constantly exhorts her government to resolve its geopolitical differences through hard-won, moral negotiations rather than through war, and cannot, ethically, ever endorse violence.

But when my government refuses to listen to logic, I have a responsibility to witness, peacefully, to the horrors it is inflicting around the world, and shall do so until I draw my last breath.

Reporter Who Exposed Diplomatic Flights Weapons Transfers Speaks: Azerbaijan Confirms Documents

By Brandon Turbeville

Last week, I wrote an article entitled, “Leaked Documents Purport To Show How The U.S., Gulf Countries Ship Weapons To Terrorists Using Diplomatic Flight Cover,” in which I covered the story broken by Bulgarian reporter Dilyana Gaytandzhieva regarding the use of Azeri diplomatic flights by the United States and Gulf countries to ship weapons to various conflict zones in Africa and the Middle East, including to terrorists organizations. Gaytandzhieva originally came upon the documents as a result of a leak sent to her by Anonymous Bulgaria.

Her report blew the lid on a secret program to provide weapons to terrorists in Iraq and Syria as well as anti-Houthi militants in Yemen...

‘Stop war in Yemen, fund 100% of humanitarian aid,’ top UN official tells Saudis

Forsaking the UN’s customary diplomatic stance, a leading official has directly blamed the Saudi-led coalition for Yemen’s devastating humanitarian crisis, urging Riyadh to fund aid and stop the conflict, which has raged since 2015.

“Saudi Arabia should fund 100 percent of the needs of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen,” David Beasley, executive director of the United Nations World Food Programme told Reuters, during a visit to Ethiopia. “Either stop the war or fund the crisis. Option three is, do both of them.”

How Media Obscure US/Saudi Responsibility for Killing Yemeni Civilians

A coalition of Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, with minor support from several other Middle Eastern nations, has relentlessly bombed Yemen since March 2015. This August, the coalition ramped up the ferocity of its airstrikes, killing dozens of civilians.

On August 23, the US/Saudi coalition bombed a hotel near Yemen’s capital Sanaa, killing 41 people, 33 of whom—80 percent—were civilians, according to the United Nations.

Then on August 25, the coalition bombed homes in Sanaa, massacring a dozen civilians, including eight members of the same family.

Major Western media outlets have, however, obscured the responsibility Saudi Arabia, and its US and European supporters, bear for launching these airstrikes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This horrific war is something the presstitutes and whorespondents don't want you to see.

Enabled by the US military, the Saudi military are killing Yemeni infants, children, women, and the medically fragile elderly.

Images: Yemeni children murdered and maimed for life, from Saudi bombing runs.

The Saudis, working in concert with US troops, are blockading the ports, to prevent any food from getting in, leading to massive malnutrition, and deaths of Yemeni children.

Images: Yemeni children starving to death from malnutrition

And now, Yemen is experiencing one of the worst plagues of cholera (possibly weaponised) in the world's history:

Images: Yemeni children suffering and dying from cholera

And if this not enough insult to injury being poured on the Yemeni people, the Saudis are using DU weapons in Yemen, which poisons children in the womb, and creates massive physical defects:

Images: Yemeni children suffering from intense birth defects, due to exposure to depleted uranium.

I would like to politely suggest to those who read this blog, that these actions are being done in your name, and with your tax dollars.

I believe that Americans need to come together, and have a national dialogue as to whether there is a moral and just cause for this wanton genocide of the Yemeni people, courtesy of Saudi Arabia, which the US government is enabling militarily.

I, for one, say, absolutely not!!

Leaked Documents Purport To Show How The U.S., Gulf Countries Ship Weapons To Terrorists Using Diplomatic Flight Cover

By Brandon Turbeville

A recent report by Bulgarian journalist Dilyana Gaytandzhieva entitled, “350 Diplomatic Flights Carry Weapons For Terrorists,” may very well have blown the lid on a secret program to provide weapons to terrorists in Iraq and Syria as well as anti-Houthi militants in Yemen. Gaytandzhieva’s report claims that the documents leaked to her by anonymous sources show that the Azberbaijani airline Silk Way Airlines was contracted by companies in the United States, Israel, and the Balkans to the militaries of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates as well as U.S. Special Ops. Gaytandzhieva’s own on-the-ground reporting also uncovered many weapons related to this secret trade in Aleppo after she had traveled there to investigate the story.

She has subsequently been fired...

US admits using military base in UAE to strike Syria, Iraq

The United States military is using an air base in the United Arab Emirates to target sites in Iraq and Syria, military website DoD Buzz reported.

The Al Dhafra Air Base, approximately 20 miles south of the capital Abu Dhabi, is being used to counter the threat from Daesh in Syria and Iraq. The US and UAE forces have created a special Air Combat Command unit at the base, known as the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing.

PAUL DAVIS: PENTAGON AND STATE DEPARTMENT DISAGREE ON KURDISH INDEPENDENCE

On Tuesday, Paul Davis, a former Pentagon analyst dealing with Kurdish affairs, stopped by Kurdistan 24’s Washington DC bureau to share his thoughts on the September 25 independence referendum and Kurdish independence in general. Davis believes that the US should support an independent Kurdish state. That is “extremely important,” because the Kurdistan Region would be a stable state, friendly to the US, and only the second real democracy in the Middle East. There is a big difference, however, between how the two US bureaucracies that are most involved—the State Department and the Defense Department—view this issue, Davis explained. “The State Department, historically, has been opposed to any new nation, and this goes back quite a ways,” he said. “The difference now,” Davis observed, “is that the Defense Department has more of a desire to see an independent Kurdistan.

Qatar to Officially Launch Blockade-Busting Port

Qatar announced the official launch of the Hamad Port in the first week of September, which is already being used to circumvent a blockade enforced on the country. The $7.1 billion megaport has been operational for ten months, and played a vital role in opening up new sea links to the emirate after a Saudi-led bloc of Arab countries enforced a blockade on Qatar, New Arab reported. Days after Eid al-Fitr celebrations come to an end, Qatar will cheer the official launch of the port, which recently opened new routes to India, Oman, Turkey and Pakistan. Vital supplies have been shipped to Qatar via the port, including dairy produce from Turkish manufacturers that have helped cut up the slack after Saudi farmers were subject to Riyadh's embargo. Also welcomed to the emirate this week are 207 racing camels that were shipped to Doha's Hamad Port from Sohar, in northern Oman. The port holds vital importance to Qatar, which goes beyond the immediate blockade.

The Saudi-Led Coalition’s ‘Weaponization of Disease’. Yemen’s Cholera Epidemic

The vast majority of deaths from Yemen’s cholera epidemic occur in rebel-held areas on account of the attacks by the Saudi-led coalition on health centers and infrastructure and because of the coalition blockade:

Dr Homer Venters, director of programmes for the research group Physicians for Human Rights, told Al Jazeera that coalition hits on clinics and sewage works were a Saudi “tactic of war” that amounted to the “weaponisation of disease”. [bold mine-DL]

Coalition attacks and a blockade on fuel and other supplies have left civilians in Houthi areas more vulnerable to cholera, and less able to get antibiotics and other life-saving help than those in other parts of the Arab world’s poorest nation, he said.

“Aside from the devastation from air strikes on hospitals and clinics, the health emergency in Yemen has been made significantly worse by Saudi restrictions on petrol imports, leaving the remaining health centres without power,” Venters said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the war crimes in which the US government is complicit with the Saudis in Yemen, does't make me " proud to be an American citizen" it angers and disgusts me, and makes me think seriously about getting out of this country while it is still possible. Unfortunately, Mike and I are too old- and broke - to see this happen.

And yet, both the US command there; the Saudi government, and the House of Saud all seem perfectly morally comfortable with the assassination of children, women, and the medically infirm; using starvation as a tool to cow the people of Yemen into total surrender; the use of DU weapons; and the use of white phosphorous against non-combatants.

UAE hails Russian efforts on uniting Syrian opposition

The United Arab Emirates welcomes efforts of Russia and Egypt on establishing dialogue between Syrian opposition’s major groups, the country’s Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan said on Tuesday after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. "The meeting in Riyadh was important as the opposition’s delegations were invited there," the foreign minister said. "We highly appreciate the efforts of Russia and Egypt on convincing the delegations that it is important to be present there in a positive way. But coordination between the opposition groups will take certain time." Al Nahyan also noted the importance of efforts made by UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to achieve the opposition’s unity. "We believe this should be part of ensuring success at talks in Geneva and Astana," he said.

Children among dead in latest attack on Yemen civilians

At least five children were among 14 people killed in an air raid in a residential neighbourhood of Yemen's capital Sanaa, the second day of mass civilian deaths in the war-torn country.

The attack destroyed two buildings on Friday in the southern district of Faj Attan, leaving people buried under debris.

Mohammed Ahmad, who lived in one of the buildings, said he was among residents who had taken nine bodies to a hospital.

"We extracted them one by one from under the rubble," he said. "Some of them were children from a single family."

READ MORE: Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen 'a strategic failure'

"When the rocket hit, one of the buildings was immediately destroyed which caused the building next door to collapse too. Some residents got out, but others were trapped."

The death toll was feared to rise further as rescuers pull more victims from the rubble.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How completely sanitised is that last statement; as though the horrific carnage achieved by this strike never happened, as though children weren't blown apart from their mothers' arms; as though the medically fragile elderly were not blown to smithereens.

The blood lust of the Saudi Government and Royal House of Saud against Yemen knows no boundaries.

And yet, President Trump, his Cabinet, and the Pentagon feel perfectly at home in colluding with these people, enabling these strikes which assassinate the innocent.

In Historic Move, Qatar Restores Diplomatic Relations With Iran

Qatar has remained defiant throughout its unprecedented summer diplomatic crisis with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states which have brought immense pressure to bear on the tiny gas and oil rich monarchy through a complete economic and diplomatic blockade imposed by its neighbors. However, on Thursday it unveiled a stunning geopolitical realignment when it announced the restoration of diplomatic relations with Iran in a move that is arguably its greatest act of defiance yet. The Qatari foreign ministry announced early Thursday that "the state of Qatar expressed its aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields" and reportedly informed Iran by phone of plans to return the Qatari ambassador to Tehran for the first time since it broke relations in 2016.

Moqtada Al-Sadr and Saudi Arabia— The New Allies

After the meeting with Mohamed Bin Salman and other Saudi officials, Al-Sadr’s office stated that there would be a Saudi consulate in Najaf. Although looking at the suggestion superficially the intention seems to be to strengthen the Saudi relations with Iraqi government, there is more to that. It’s not a coincidence that Najaf was chosen. This would give Saudi Arabia the opportunity to crackdown on Shia opposition in the gulf countries while using religious authorities like Al-Sadr on their side. Al-Sadr left to Iraq, and Saudi bulldozers flattened Awamiya, terrorizing people and forcing hundreds to flee.

Yemeni Airport Catastrophe: Dying Victims Unable to Access Medical Treatment

The closure of Sanaa International Airport in Yemen is an unfortunate element of the multilateral war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, which has resulted in civilians suffering, according to the director of the Yemeni Democracy Monitoring Center, Abdel Wahab Al Sharfi.

Al Sharfi told Sputnik that the most affected people in this situation are civilians who cannot leave in order to receive medical treatment and basic health necessities.

According to him for over a year the politicians have been solving their political tasks to the detriment of ordinary Yemenis.

Al Sharfi further spoke about how Saudi Arabia is waging a multilateral war against Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Saudi military has been doing an incredible job of turning Yemen, already the poorest, and most corrupted failed state in the Middle East, into an actual living hell for the Yemeni people.

As the Architect of this genocide, Prince Salman has to be very pleased with himself.

31 PICTURES THAT PROVE YEMEN HAS TURNED INTO HELL ON EARTH

(Anti Media) Societies pick and choose their outrage. What is one day considered barbaric is met with a collective yawn the next.

Unfortunately, for the innocent people of Yemen, the masses are completely uninterested in their current state of suffering. Maybe it’s because Western propaganda hasn’t sufficiently signaled in the direction of the misery and destruction facing the Yemeni people. Maybe it’s that the havoc is being carried out by Saudi Arabia and their cohorts, who are not only allies of the United States and the United Kingdom but also have the financial means to silence dissent in the West. Possibly, it’s that the U.S. and the U.K. are both backing the carnage on the ground in Yemen, not only via the providing of arms to the Saudi coalition but also providing military ground support.

Whatever the reason may be, the time has come for the world to wake up and realize there is more on planet earth than Donald Trump’s Twitter account.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Warning: these images are very raw, graphic, and painfully disturbing.

But I am posting this article this morning, because Americans need to see what is being done with their tax dollars, and in their name.

We need to have a national dialogue about the reality that the US military is assisting the Saudis in the following war crimes:

1. The assassination of non-combatants, including infants, children, women, and the medially fragile elderly.

2. The starving of Yemeni children, by assisting Saudi troops in closing the ports so no food aid can get in whatsoever, meaning that infants and children are dying of complications of malnutrition.

3. Aiding and abetting the spread of the scourge of cholera, which has now affected over half a million people in Yemen.

4. Using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen, which burn human skin to the bone, and for which there is no antidote.

5. Using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen, which are known to cause a spike in cancers, still births, and massive upticks in horrific birth defects.

In short, the US is guilty of colluding with Saudi Arabia in the commission or war crimes.

I do not know about you, but I am singularly unhappy at being the citizen of a country which so blatantly commits war crimes in Yemen, and thinks its actions will continue to happen under cover of a total press blackout, with impunity; so I would politely say to this government, "not any more!!"

UN Aid Chief Slams Saudis for Blocking Yemen Aid

UN aid chief Stephen O’Brien issued statements Friday slamming the Saudi-led coalition attacking Yemen, along with the Saudi-backed government in south Yemen, saying they are “unilaterally denying and excessively delaying” entry of humanitarian aid into northern Yemen.

This has been a recurring problem throughout the war, as the Saudi coalition’s first act was to impose a naval blockade. Since then, they’ve tried to funnel aid shipments overwhelmingly to Aden, the de facto capital of their allies, while attacking and blockading Hodeidah, the last northern port.

O’Brien insisted that it was “simply wrong” for the coalition to insist that cargo go through Aden instead of Hodeidah, urging the countries to endorse a UN mechanism for allowing shipments into Hodeidah.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is going to happen when pigs fly.

Prince Salman's attitude toward Yemeni non-combatants seems to include all the following elements; kill combatants and non-combatants alike; starve the Yemeni people into death and submission by malnutrition, and then, with water infrastructure destroyed through Saudi bombings, let's have cholera (possibly weaponised) kill the rest!

And I have a question; where did the 66 million Prince Salmon donated to the UN for treating the cholera epidemic actually go?!?

Prince Salmon donates 66 million to the UN to treat cholera in Yemen, June 2017

Did Prince Salmon cynically give them the aid, understanding that by the time they got around to organising and distributing it with boots on the ground in Yemen, it would be too little too late, if they were able to get it into Yemen at all?!?

Well, here's the answer, and what we have heard about the "cholera vaccination program" for Yemen to date: take a look at this headline from the New York Slimes, dated 11 July, 2017:

U.N. Suspending Plan for Cholera Vaccination in Yemen

The article went on to say:

"The United Nations said on Tuesday that it was suspending plans for a cholera vaccination campaign in Yemen — reversing a decision made a month ago — because the disease’s rampant spread and the ravages of war there would make such an effort ineffective.

Jamie McGoldrick, the United Nations aid coordinator in Yemen, said plans for preventive vaccination were being “set aside.” He attributed the change to obstacles in delivering vaccines in the middle of a conflict that has crippled the country’s health system and hampered access to some areas threatened by the contagious disease."

So the bottom line here is, Prince Salmon makes the donation to the UN, understanding that the UN wouldn't be able to deliver cholera relief because of the instability the Saudi forces have created in the country, and he looks good, because it's now the UN's fault that this aid could not be delivered, not his fault because of the atrocities his troops have committed in Yemen.

It's a classic magic trick, and it has a name: that is "misdirection".

But Saudi Prince Salman, a word please; this is absolutely not working. Thinking Americans, and people around the world, know the "game" you are playing in this genocide against the Yemeni people, and want it to stop.

U.S. forces to stay in Syria for decades, say militia allies

Washington's main Syrian ally in the fight against Islamic State says the U.S. military will remain in northern Syria long after the jihadists are defeated, predicting enduring ties with the Kurdish-dominated region.

The U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of militias dominated by the Kurdish YPG, believes the United States has a "strategic interest" in staying on, SDF spokesman Talal Silo told Reuters.

"They have a strategy policy for decades to come. There will be military, economic and political agreements in the long term between the leadership of the northern areas (of Syria) ... and the U.S. administration," Silo said.

The U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State has deployed forces at several locations in northern Syria, including an airbase near the town of Kobani. It has supported the SDF with air strikes, artillery, and special forces on the ground.

Potential Kurdish State Allegedly Backed by Israel May Upset Region - Politician

Tarek Ahmad, a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), stated that an attempt to establish an independent Kurdish state anywhere in the Middle East will really encourage multiple wars.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The creation of an independent Kurdish state in Iraq, allegedly welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, may lead to instability in the region, with Israel benefiting from the upset, Tarek Ahmad, a member of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), told Sputnik.

"An attempt to establish an independent Kurdish state anywhere in the Middle East will really encourage multiple wars because the question with the Kurds is how to draw the borders of the state. It is very dangerous for the region’s and the world’s stability," Ahmad said.

Yemeni Army Reported to Have Destroyed Arms Depot in Southern Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni army has used artillery to destroy an ammunition and arms depot belonging to Saudi Arabian forces in the southern Saudi province of Najran, Iranian media reported Tuesday.

The army, supported by militias, continued their operations against Saudi-led forces, shelling their positions in the province, the FARS news agency reported.

The media outlet added that the destruction of the facility in Najran's Taleh district was also confirmed by a military source close to the Yemeni army.
Yemen has been mired in a civil war since 2015. The war is waged between the internationally recognized government of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Houthi movement backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Indyk relayed the conversation to Yousef Al Otaiba, the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the United States, and the man most responsible for aiding bin Salman’s rise in Washington.

Turkey’s Drive To Restore Ottoman Era Influence

After nearly a century of being relegated to a smaller regional power acting alongside the Israeli-Saudi nexus, Turkey’s new leadership stands prepared to significantly increase its political power and prestige. Taking advantage of various conflicts around their borders, Turkey has embarked on a bit to expand their influence not just in the Middle East, but also on the borders of an increasingly volatile European Union. These actions, along with consolidation domestically and an increased focus on militarization mean that Turkey’s profile stands a good chance of rising over the next decade.

A Cholera Epidemic in Yemen Is Now Wildly Out of Control

With the civil war in Yemen now having entered into its third year, the beleaguered Middle Eastern nation is having to contend with the devastating impacts of conflict, including disease. An alarming report from the World Health Organization estimates that some 500,000 Yemenis have contracted cholera since April of this year, of which 2,000 have died. It’s now the worst active cholera epidemic in the world, and one of the largest in decades.

EXXONMOBIL, KOCHS, ISRAEL PUSHING WASHINGTON TO PARTITION IRAQ AND SYRIA

ears before the U.S. illegally invaded and then occupied Iraq, plans were circulating within the Pentagon to partition the country along “sectarian” lines, with the express purpose of allowing the U.S. and its regional allies to better control oil resource production and movement within the Middle East. In Syria, the same narrative of partition has more recently been circulated as the “only” solution to the nation’s sectarian divisions, divisions which did not emerge until they were artificially created in 2011 when the current conflict began and later fomented by hostile foreign actors.

Tony Blair bankrolled by wealthy Arab state while Middle East peace envoy – leaked email

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was funded by a wealthy Arab state while serving as Middle East peace envoy, leaked emails seen by the Sunday Telegraph reveal.

Blair’s official role in the Quartet, a group comprising the US, EU, Russia, and the United Nations (UN) seeking to find a peaceful solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, was funded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Blair, however, also received millions in consultancy fees by the very same Arab state and the sovereign wealth fund of its capital, Abu Dhabi, raising questions over whether the New Labour founder had a conflict of interest.

Why the Saudi War on Yemen Is Seen as US State Terrorism

The US/Saudi war on Yemen is now in its third year, and the indiscriminate Saudi bombing campaign has destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure, left thousands dead and millions starving in a man-made famine, and triggered a cholera epidemic that has infected almost half a million people.

On July 23, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that more than 600,000 people were expected to contract cholera in Yemen this year.

Most Americans are not aware of their country’s role in this war on the Middle East’s poorest country, but the Yemenis know very well that Washington supplies the weapons and sponsors the Saudi bombing campaign responsible for their suffering. In the capital Sanaa, anti-American graffiti are plastered on walls throughout the city screaming “USA kills Yemeni people,” and they see the war as not just as a Saudi war, but as a US war on their country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In Yemen, in its enabling the Saudis, the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America is colluding in Saudi war crimes, and state-sponsored terrorism against the Yemeni people. The following images are very graphic, but I believe, critically in need of being seen, in order to start some level of dialogue with the American people, as to whether these actions should be funded with their tax dollars, and performed in their names.

The Saudis are assassinating, and maiming non-combatants for life.

Images: Yemeni children killed and maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi bombings

Because the Saudis, aided by the US military, have closed the ports, so no food can get in, children are dying from the complications of malnutrition:

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition.

And then, there's the cholera epidemic, potentially brought on by a weaponised form of the disease:

Yemeni children art trapped in the worst humanitarian disaster in modern history.

I am morally ashamed of my country's war crimes in Yemen; I wish Mike and I could emigrate to a country which doesn't indulge in this kind of behaviour, but we are far too old - and too broke - to do so.

The CIA and the Pentagon have not Ended Their Support to Islamist/ Wahhabi Terror Groups in Syria

BP: According to the Washington Post, U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to end the CIA’s covert program to arm and train moderate Syrian rebels battling the government of Bashar al-Assad. What’s your assessment of this move?

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, it appears that absolutely nothing has really changed in Syria, with regard to the US arming the jihadists there, even though it was alleged that President Trump ordered this practice stopped last month.

Trump Ends Covert Aid to Syrian Rebels Trying to Topple Assad

It seems that the CIA is absolutely not listening to the White House on this issue, and if, in fact, what Mr. Papadopolous is saying is true, it would seem that President Trump needs to yank CIA Director Pompeo's chain right now, and very severely, on this issue.

U.S. Troops On The Ground In Yemen, Bombing Missions For Strategic Alliance

By Brandon Turbeville

Quietly, the United States has managed to turn its war on Yemen from a “leading from behind with a lot of technical assistance” program to a “if you want something done right, do it yourself” system. While the U.S. has repeatedly referred to the crime against humanity launched against the Yemeni people by Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. as KSA’s war, it has provided both with large of amounts of technical assistance, intelligence, and equipment with which to fight it.

The United States has even engaged in direct combat from time to time, including a now infamous operation that left one Navy SEAL dead.

Now, however, the U.S. has stepped up its involvement to joint operations with Saudi and Emirati forces on the ground in Yemen...

America’s ISIS War Enters Fourth Year: War Is Expected to Leave US Troops in Iraq Permanently

On August 8 of 2014, a pair of US jets launched their first airstrikes against ISIS targets near the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Irbil. This marked the beginning of a protracted air war which continues to this day, along with an accompanying ground war which, despite pledges of “no boots on the ground,” quickly grew to many thousands of US troops.

The fourth year finds ISIS-held territory shrinking substantially, with the group’s territory in Iraq all but lost, and both the Kurdish YPG and the Syrian government pushing them back in Syria, with an ongoing offensive in the ISIS capital of Raqqa.

Yet while Pentagon officials are keen to brag about their accomplishments in the war, mostly centering around having killed massive numbers of people, they are also quick to dismiss the idea that the war is anywhere near over, or that even if it was “won” is some shape or form it would mean US troops coming home.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This permanent US deployment in Iraq will insure that the US controls the Iraqi government, the oil, and the currency in which that oil wil be sold (translation: only in US dollars).

And it is very interesting, and almost ironic, to notice; just when the Philippine's Duterte was waging his war against drug dealers, what happens?!?

All of a sudden he has ISIS with which to contend!!

Accidental?!? I think not.

U.S. TROOPS FLOW INTO YEMEN AND MORE ARE PROBABLY ON THE WAY

Emirate officials greeted U.S. forces at an airport in Hadramaut province on Friday as they entered Yemen. Mainstream media is wishy-washy describing the role that the troops will play which indicates that their activity is likely much more involved than officials would like to admit. BBC even whitewashed over the presence, using the term “US-backed troops” instead. Yemeni media, on the other hand, has been crystal clear in their reporting, insisting that the fields are directly under control of U.A.E. and U.S. troops.

According to Yemen’s Saba News Agency, U.S. and Emirate forces swiftly expelled AQAP from oil and gas fields in Shabwah province. This operation led many Yemeni’s to worry about the U.S. and their allies intentions and possible looting of Yemen’s resources; especially so considering that the United Arab Emirates relies heavily on Qatar for gas.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the people of Yemen; what US forces, combined with Saudi forces, are attempting to do here quite simple: to regime change the country to a Western-centric government; to expropriate physical resources to which it has utterly no moral right ( like Yemen's oil); and insure that the oil, and other resources, are only sold in US dollars.

And those Yemenis who oppose this are simply assassinated, then labeled as "collateral damage", and "neutralized with extreme prejudice"- even their infant children, as the following images will attest:

Images: Yemeni children murdered and maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi bombing raids

I am singularly distressed about being a citizen of a country which colludes with Saudi war crimes in Yemen; this announcement of the deployment of more US troops signals a ratcheting up of the slo-mo Saudi genocide of the Yemeni people, until the Saudi/US-desired results are accomplished.

TURKEY & QATAR STAGE MILITARY DRILLS AMID GULF DIPLOMATIC CRISIS

Turkey and Qatar have staged joint military drills showcasing their strategic alliance, according to Qatari media. It comes after Turkish troops moved into Qatar following a diplomatic and transport blockade imposed against Doha by several Arab countries.

The drills were aimed at preparing Qatar's military to defend "vital economic, strategic and infrastructure facilities," Al-Sharq newspaper reported, as quoted by Reuters.

The exercises come after Turkish media reported that joint drills would be taking place August 6-7, with officials saying they would be aimed at "strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries" and "boosting efforts to combat armed groups and maintaining stability in the region."

According to Anadolu agency, Qatari Emiri Navy Commander Rear Admiral Mohammed Nasser al-Mohannadi visited the Turkish frigate ‘TCG Gökova’ last week, which is docked at Hamad Port in Qatar.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This situation could ignite at any moment, as Saudi Arabia has gone back to its original position that its 13 requirements must be met by Doha, and Doha has stated that it will not respond of any of the items with which Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries want done.

Turkey's military already being in Qatar, and doing military exercises, means that Doha hopes the Turkish military presence will preclude any Saudi Arabian military moves against it.

And as a further complication, Qatar is home to the largest military base in the Middle East, Al Udeid Air Base, housing 11,000 US military.

IF Saudi Arabia decides to go in militarily, if Qatar is recalcitrant, how is the US going to respond, and what will be the standing orders to the CO's at Al Udeid?!?

This is rapidly devolving into one hot mess.

McMaster solidifies power at NSC — and supports Iran deal, sees Israel as occupier

Updated. Last night President Trump issued a statement affirming his support for National Security adviser H.R. McMaster in the face of a storm of criticism from rightwing outlets. The statement is a sign that Trump and his new chief of staff are taking the realist side of the debate inside his administration over foreign policy.

So while Trump claims to be doing everything he can to trash the Iran deal, the good news is that his foreign policy team is for it. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson clearly advocated for the deal at a press briefing earlier this week, while suggesting that he could differ with the president on how effective it’s been.

Saudi Airstrike Kills Nine Civilians, Mostly Children, in Northern Yemen

A pre-dawn Saudi airstrike against the predominantly Shi’ite city of Saada, in northern Yemen, has destroyed a home and killed nine civilians, six of them children. Saudi officials have yet to comment on why the house was attacked.

This has been a problem throughout the Saudi war in Yemen, however, with airstrikes killing a massive number of civilians, particularly in Shi’ite parts of the country, and despite repeated promises to improve their targeting, it keeps happening.

Residents in the area took quite some time to even start picking through the ruins of the house to recover the bodies, noting that the Saudi warplanes which attacked continued to circle overhead long after, raising fears they’d attack anyone trying to rescue survivors, which has also been common practice in the Saudi air war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Hey, killing innocent women and children, do not follow the denomination of Islam we follow; its what we do!!" - Official Saudi Souse.

And those Yemenis had good reason to fear a "double tap" strike on the house; this is something the Saudi military has been trained to do, courtesy of their US military trainers.

Folks, I have to tell you; I am getting very tired of being a citizen of a country which is enabling the Saudi military in the commission of war crimes in Yemen.

US Troops Are on the Ground in Yemen for al-Qaeda Offensive: Pentagon Won't Rule Out More Troops Being Sent in Coming Weeks

A day after the US was reported to have participated in an anti al-Qaeda offensive in southern Shabwa Province of Yemen, the Pentagon is confirming that a “small number” of US ground troops have been deployed into Yemen for an ongoing operation against the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) force.

Details are still scant, but the operation is said to be taking place across central Yemen in a major al-Qaeda stronghold. The Pentagon said the main purposes of their presence is “intelligence sharing,” at least for now.

That’s because the Pentagon said they are not ruling out sending even more troops into Yemen in the coming weeks, as they appear to intend to continue escalating the fight against AQAP, in an offensive which apparently is being coordinated with the United Arab Emirates.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Raining more WMDs and death on the Yemeni people is not something the US military should be doing, no matter what the alleged "good reason" is for it.

Shocking Footage Of Saudi Siege Against Own Citizens

The Saudi regime is in the midst of an extreme and brutal crackdown against its own citizenry in the country's Eastern province - a situation now spiraling out of control with rising civilian deaths, entire neighborhoods turned to rubble, and new reports that water and electricity have been cut to the now completely besieged town of Al-Awamiya. Though local activists continue to upload shocking ground level videos to social media revealing that entire districts have been leveled, international and US media have remained largely silent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And THIS is President Trump's new BFF in the Middle East, Prince Salman?!?

President Trump, you really need to think this decision through; this horrific torture, not only against the people of Yemen, but also against Salman's own Shia brother and sister Saudi Arabians, is completely unacceptable, sir, and absolutely completely at odds with true American values.

Teenage boys given electric shocks inside police station in Bahrain

Two Bahraini teenagers have reportedly been subjected to electric shocks by police during questioning as the ruling Al Khalifah regime continues to target minors, arrest and expose them to various forms of torture irrespective of international calls to stop the practice.

The family of 16-year-old Mohammed Ibrahim Abdel-Jabbar, a local resident of the northwestern village of Bani Jamra, said their son had told them of being electrocuted at the Dawar 17 police station before authorities transferred him to the Dry Dock Prison, Arabic-language Bahrain al-Youm news agency reported.

They added that Mohammed Ibrahim, looking pale and gaunt, made the revelation during a family reunion on Wednesday.

The family explained that their son has been in custody pending investigation into alleged charges related to political activities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish that President Trump would relocate the 5th Naval Fleet from Bahrain, because of the barbaric, monumental cruelty peace activists in this country have to put up with; but it's not going to happen.

Those alleged American values of human rights, democracy, and participatory democracy get absolutely, well and truly flushed when the US government is dealing with a country which buys a lot of of its military toys from the Unhinged Surveilled States of America.

"We're Back To Square One" - Saudi Bloc Reinstates Demands As Qatar Economy Collapses

The four countries leading the boycott against Qatar are going back to their list of 13 demands for Doha to meet before talks can start, essentially reverting the Arab Gulf spat back to square one.

At the same time, economic data for June shows that Qatar’s imports plummeted due to the blockade imposed by most of its neighbors, and foreign deposits at Qatari banks dropped to their lowest in nearly two years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This could get ugly, and very quickly.

There are Turkish troops already in exercises on Qatar soil, and the US has the largest base in the Middle East in Qatar.

One of Saudi Arabia biggest allies, however, is the United States, which also happens to maintain its biggest concentration of military personnel in the Middle East at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base.
The sprawling base 20 miles southwest of the Qatari capital of Doha is home to some 11,000 US military personnel.

So if Saudi Arabia and the other countries blockading Qatar decide to invade militarily, what will the orders be for the CO at Al Udeid Air Base there?!?

Saudis Block Fuel for UN Aid Flights in Yemen

The humanitarian situation has been growing ever worse in northern Yemen for months, with a Saudi blockade keeping aid out of the only port still controlled by the Shi’ite Houthis. The UN has been trying to get emergency aid into the capital city of Sanaa through the airport, but that seems to be no easier.

That’s because UN officials revealed today that Saudi Arabia is preventing, as part of the blockade, any shipments of jet fuel into Sanaa, meaning there’s no way for the UN planes to fly in, deliver aid, and still have enough fuel to fly out again.

UN officials warn the situation is increasingly bleak, with no real ability to get vital aid into parts of the country that are afflicted with a huge cholera epidemic, and are now on top of that facing an outbreak on meningitis.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, the architect of this horrific war against the Yemeni people, is proving himself to be an absolute monster; unfortunately, he is a monster whose actions in Yemen have the the absolute blessing, support, and enabling by the government of the Unhinged Surveilled States of America.

I am profoundly disgusted to be a citizen of a country which is colluding with Saudi Arabian war crimes in Yemen. Both Mike and I are too old, and too broke to immigrate right now.

But the one thing I can do, is to bear Christian witness to these atrocities, and attempt to shine a light on the moral insanity of what this government is doing, in enabling Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

Biological Warfare: US & Saudis Use Cholera to Kill Yemenis

Chemical/biological warfare is the term used to describe the use of chemical or biological agents as weapons to injure or kill humans, livestock, or plants. Chemical weapons are devices that use chemicals to inflict death or injury; biological weapons use pathogens or organisms that cause disease. Pathogens include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins (poisons produced by animals or plants). – Library of Congress, Science Reference Services

Webmaster's Commentary:

This morally sickens and angers me no end.

I wish Mike and I could move to a civilized country where the government doesn't do such things; but we are both too broke, and too old to make that happen.

At 68, I am a citizen of a country colluding in war crimes in the Middle East and beyond, and collaborating with a country (Saudi Arabia) with a human rights record which would make Attila the Hun seem downright compassionate!

Killing Them Is Killing Us

The war on terror has laid waste to large swaths of the Middle East and Northern Africa. Cities, towns, and villages have been reduced to smoking, bombed-out rubble, chaos reigns, the carnage is ubiquitous. The US military keeps count of its own personnel wounded and killed, a number in the thousands. Civilian casualties —or collateral damage as the military calls it—across Chaostan (Richard Maybury’s apt coinage) are in the millions, as are the number of people displaced (an estimated 11 million in Syria alone).

Imagine the American fury and media sensationalism if a small US town was carpet-bombed by a foreign power. YouTube’s servers would melt from the overflow of viewers watching videos of parents pulling their dead children from collapsed homes.

Centcom: Qatar Blockade Hinders Long-Term Planning at Udeid Airbase

Central Command (Centcom) has expressed concern in new statement about the impact of a long-term blockade on the nation of Qatar on the United States’ ability to carry out wars in the long-term operating out of the al-Udeid Airbase.

Al-Udeid is the forward operating headquarters for Central Command, hosting some 10,000 US troops, and is basically the site from which America’s constant wars across the Middle East are conducted. Officials say that so far, the wars haven’t been impacted by the blockade on Qatar.

They’re not at all clear how that’s going to work in the long run, however, as hopes that the diplomatic crisis would be resolved in a few weeks haven’t exactly panned out. Admission it could last months also comes with comments from some of the blockading states that it could basically be permanent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Perhaps President Trump might have considered this before he tweeted that Qatar is a sponsor of terrorism, a statement from which the Defense Department had to distance itself, very quickly thereafter.

In March 2016 the British government pledged £13.4 million to the Community Security Trust (CST), a Jewish body that is committed to fighting hatred against one group only. Just two weeks later, according to the CST’s statistics, anti Semitism went through the roof...

This conclusion to be drawn from the CST’s statistics is that the more public money is allocated to fight anti Semitism, the more anti Semitic the Britons become.

Thousands of Jordanians protest killing of teenager in embassy, chant 'Death to Israel'

Thousands of Jordanians joined the funeral procession of a teenager shot dead by an Israeli security guard during a standoff at the Israeli embassy. The mourners have demanded authorities close the embassy and tear up Jordan’s peace treaty with Tel Aviv.

The people who joined the procession chanted, “No to an Israeli embassy or ambassador on Jordanian land” and “Death to Israel” as they accompanied the coffin of the killed teenager from his home city of the city of Wihdat, east of the Jordanian capital of Amman, where a large Palestinian refugee camp is situated.

The mourners were carrying pictures of the dead teenager, identified as Mohammed Jawawdeh, 17, as well as Palestinian and Jordanian flags. They also called for a “jihad” against Israel, Reuters reports.

"We will go to Jerusalem as martyrs by the millions,” people chanted, according to AFP. Jawawdeh’s uncle also appealed to Jordan’s King Abdullah II, asking him to avenge the teenager’s death.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"By accident", my astrolabe!!

But the big question now, is how how King Abdullah of Jordan and Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, are going move forward to take steps to insure that such an incident never happens again, and compensate the family of this kid for their loss (as though money could ever compensate for the loss of a loved one).

The World's Largest Humanitarian Crisis Is Basically Being Blacked Out by Western Media

The Arab world’s richest country, Saudi Arabia, went to war against the Arab world’s poorest country in 2015. In this period, Yemen – with a population of 25 million – has been substantially destroyed. The United Nations has been tracking the scale of the atrocity. The numbers are bewildering. Close to 20,000 people have died in this war, at least half of them civilians. The numbers of those injured could not be tabulated as half of Yemen’s hospitals and medical centers do not work. This means there is no accurate measure of those who come in to be treated.

– IN RETALIATION FOR THE SAUDI’S ONGOING AGGRESSION AGAINST YEMEN, YEMENI FORCES HAVE TARGETED AN ARAMCO SAUDI OIL REFINERY IN YANBU PROVINCE WITH A LONG-RANGE BALLISTIC MISSILE.

The Saudi-led coalition tend to order anywhere from 20 to 70 airstrikes against various Yemeni provinces on any given day. Any province under control of Yemen’s Popular Forces is fair game. Hot spots currently include Taiz, Marib, the vital Hodeidah port town, and the densely populated capital city of Sana’a. So in retaliation, Yemeni forces have struck a Saudi oil refinery.

Just yesterday, Saudi airstrikes attacked a fishing boat killing 8 workers on board and wounding at least one more. Other targets frequently include civilian homes, crowded markets, funerals, schools, and all other civilian infrastructure. Despite this terrorism, arms from the west– especially the United States and United Kingdom– continue flowing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the US government chooses to partner with Saudi Arabia in its war crimes against Yemen is very troubling to me. I wish Mike and I were a lot younger and a lot less broke; then, maybe, we could apply for citizenship in a country which, on moral grounds, would never commit such crimes.

Here's the reality of what is going on in Yemen: the Saudis have been killing and maiming innocent civilians; with US military assistance, they have blocked Yemeni ports so no food can get in, leading to massive deaths by malnutrition; and then, of course, is the horrific outbreak of cholera in Yemen (possibly weaponised), which has seen a toll of over 300,000 people sickened by it.

It appears that our US government has morphed into something far more sinister than the Unhinged Surveilled States of America; it has morphed into the Unhinged, Surveilled States of War Crimes, where profits for the American merchants of death, is all that matters to this government.

Ultimately, there will be costs, financially, physically, and morally, to this country, and its leadership, and those costs may well be devastating.

Please understand that everyone who does not, peacefully, logically, and morally speak out against these practices, on the part of this country, are also complicit in these crimes.

Now is hardly the time to be complacent, or think, for a moment, that they will ultimately not affect you, because, down the road, they will.

US dishes dirt on Saudis to flush Gulf blockade on Qatar

It’s been a bad week for the Saudi rulers in the US media. A slew of embarrassing stories got wide coverage, with the seeming intention of undermining Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies. Not coincidentally, the Saudi-led bloc then capitulated in its standoff with Qatar.

The row between Qatar and the other Gulf states of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain has been the worst flare up in relations among the US-backed oil and gas monarchies going back many years.

All of the energy-rich sheikhdoms are American allies, or more accurately, American intelligence came out to effectively back Qatar’s side in the row with the other Gulf states. The US assessed that the official Qatar News Agency website was hacked by “the government of United Arab Emirates” on May 24, which sparked the whole stand-off in the first place.
