Project 2020: preparation for war in Eastern Europe

What is happening to America? It took on the functions of a hegemon and can not cope with them.

Unfortunately, the phenomenon of American stupidity did not end with poor Jen Psaki. The recommendations of the experts of the analytical center "Atlantic Council" sound equally bizarre to their audience.

Is The US State Department Waging "Open War" On The White House?

"It's not clear to me why the Secretary of State wishes to at once usurp the powers of the Congress and then to derail his boss's rapprochement with the Israeli government." — Foreign policy operative, quoted in the Washington Free Beacon.

Since he was sworn in as Secretary of State on February 1, Rex Tillerson and his advisors at the State Department have made a number of statements and policy decisions that contradict President Trump's key campaign promises on foreign policy, especially regarding Israel and Iran.

"Tillerson was supposed to clean house, but he left half of them in place and he hid the other half in powerful positions all over the building. These are career staffers committed to preventing Trump from reversing what they created." — Veteran foreign policy analyst, quoted in the Free Beacon.

Iran ready for swift riposte if Trump kills nuclear deal

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CNN in New York Monday night, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani went on to add, “exiting such an agreement would carry a high cost for the United States of America, and I do not believe Americans would be willing to pay such a high cost for something that will be useless for them."

Rouhani said such an action by the Trump administration "will yield no results for the United States but at the same time it will generally decrease international trust placed in Washington."

Netanyahu Is Meeting Trump To Push For War With Iran

Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Donald Trump at the White House and push the U.S. to withdraw from the nuclear accord with Iran. Netanyahu will present an argument that Trump already has come to accept: America’s adherence to the nuclear deal cannot solely depend on Iran’s compliance with the agreement, but also whether Iran’s other policies challenge U.S. national interests. It’s a more honest argument compared to the slogans Netanyahu has used in the past. But it is also a line that fundamentally contradicts Netanyahu’s central message of the past decades: That Iran’s nuclear program constitutes an existential threat to Israel.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel constitutes an existential threat to ... everyone!

The meeting comes amid a debate in Washington over whether the US should walk away from the deal and what ramifications that move would create.

Gregg Jarrett: Sessions should resign, but not before taking action against Clinton, Comey and Rice

Jeff Sessions should never have accepted the position of Attorney General of the United States. His leadership has proven unproductive and ineffectual.

There are two reasons for this.

First, he deceived President Trump by concealing his intent to recuse himself from the federal investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election. Hours after he was sworn in, Sessions began setting his recusal in motion by meeting with Department of Justice officials to discuss stepping aside from the probe. Failing to disclose such a material matter to the president was an egregious betrayal.

The Senate is expected to pass by a wide margin a $700-billion defense bill today. When it comes to extravagant military spending, Congress is relentlessly bipartisan, and all bickering stops, as long as the bacon gets spread to every district and state. “The 1,215-page measure defies a number of White House objections, but Trump hasn’t threatened to veto the measure,” the Washington Post mused. “The bill helps him honor a pledge to boost military spending by tens of billions of dollars.”

In Catalonia: A Spanish Tiananmen Square?

One of those crises that no one saw coming is about to rear its head in a very unlikely locale: Catalonia, Spain’s richest province, where the local government has scheduled an independence referendum on October 1.

Catalonia has long been a cash cow for the Madrid regime: the province is by far the richest in the country, and contributes much more to the national budget than it receives. With 16 percent of Spain’s population, the region produces 25 percent of the nation’s exports, hosts 23 percent of industry – and receives 11 percent of government expenditures. This essentially parasitic relationship perhaps accounts for the fierce resistance to the secession movement by the rather shaky regime of conservative Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.

Removing Offensive Monuments

The eyesore presidential libraries

The social justice warrior charge to purge the United States of all monuments relating in any way to the Confederacy has been rapidly expanding to include the scourge represented by all white people all through history.

Now, I would suggest that turnabout is fair play so if we are all agreeing that monuments must be destroyed to right historic wrongs, I am interested in making up my own little list based on the things that I disapprove of. As readers of this site are aware, I am a critic of illegal behavior by the United States government, to include torture, targeted assassinations by drone and starting wars without any reason to do so, so that would be a good place to start.

Trump & Netanyahu Families Now Determine All Our Future Lives

The United States of America is the world’s greatest super-state with the largest economy/global GDP; the most powerful military machine in history backed by the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons in existence.

It’s ‘sidekick’ in the Middle East is the state of Israel. The American principal and its Israeli satellite, work in concert to control both the global economy and international politics through their combined position in the United Nations and through the economic and political power of the US Congress. All this is done publicly with no attempt to hide this extraordinary blatant, bilateral US-Israeli agenda.

That agenda is to overtly increase its economic and political power to the exclusion and at the expense of the rest of the world i.e. the other 191 member states of the United Nations General Assembly. This is no secret pact but a stated aim of the US President.

Trump can attack Russia quickly and decisively - Newt Gingrich

If Donald Trump decides to attack Russia, he will do it more decisively than any other US president would.

Thus statement comes from the conference of "Yalta International Strategy" in Kiev, by Speaker of the US Congress Newt Gingrich.

"There will be consensus and people will understand that Russia is not a neighbor who has a different point of view, but an enemy. And you need to resist it. The category of people around whom Trump surrounds himself, if they plan an attack, it will be very decisive. Trump is by nature very aggressive. If he comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to limit Putin, he will take greater risks than any other American politician, "Gingrich said.

He predicted the withdrawal of Russia first from the Donbass, and then from the Crimea.

NATO ex-Secretary General: "Russia is trembling, let's finish it off with force"

Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the deployment of the UN contingent to the Donbass, because he was frightened by the US leadership's statements about the provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine. This was announced by the former NATO Secretary General Anders Rasmussen in Kiev at the "Yalta European Strategy" conference.

"Putin understands that the price of continuing destabilization in Ukraine has become higher. Very often, political and diplomatic processes can be conducted through a clearly articulated threat of the use of force. I am confident that further pressure on Russia will help this process, " Rasmussen said.

North Korean Missile Test Raises Questions About Why Allies Didn’t Try To Shoot It Down

The United States and its allies knew the North Koreans had fired a missile and tracked its path over Japan last week. Sirens blared in Hokkaido, and the Japanese government urged people to take cover.

The Neoconservatives Have Declared War On The Realists

In recent years, I've increasingly suspected that when it comes to foreign policy, the realists offer some of the most sane observations.

These suspicions were confirmed earlier this year when after the election of Donald Trump, John Mearsheimer, one of modern realism's current standard bearers, wrote in The National Interest that Trump should "adopt a realist foreign policy" and outlines a far better foreign policy agenda that what we've seen coming from Washington.

And what is this realist foreign policy? For Mearsheimer, some main tenets include:

Accepting that the US attempt at nation building in Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen "has been an abject failure."

"Washington [should] respect the sovereignty of other states even when it disagrees with their internal policies."

"Spreading democracy, especially by force, almost always fails."

Why Trump Is Right and the Experts Are Still Wrong about the Iran Deal

Iran is technically in compliance with its weak terms, which tells us why the deal was a historic blunder.

The experts all agree. They are very nervous about the Trump administration’s continued dithering about whether it will again certify Iran’s compliance in the nuclear deal. As the New York Times helpfully pointed out in an article about a joint letter signed by what we are told is a list of 80 of the world’s leading authorities on nuclear nonproliferation, the experts believe that Trump’s inclination to ditch the deal (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA) has nothing to do with “the merits” of the question.

Much of his national-security team reportedly seeks to persuade Trump to keep the deal, despite his publicly expressed belief that it is a mistake. But the letter from the experts should make him doubly suspicious of their arguments.

This past week, Senator Paul incisively observed in multiple addresses before the Senate body that lawmakers have not debated the topic of war for sixteen years, despite the fact the US constitution vests the war powers of the United States of America not in the president but in the US Congress, the legislative, not the executive branch of government. The Congress may have granted the president to take the nation to war in the cases of Afghanistan and Iraq, but they never explicitly authorized five of the seven wars currently underway.

Germany Launches Probe After Pentagon's Syrian Arms Smuggling Story Goes Viral

The German government has opened a probe into an illegal Pentagon arms trafficking operation after a bombshell investigative report on the secret program went viral this week.

On Wednesday we reported on the continuing Pentagon arms pipeline to Syria which runs through Europe, the Balkans, and Caucuses, and which is based on a shady network of private contractors and altered US government paperwork. The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) produced conclusive evidence and internal memos proving that not only is the Pentagon currently involved in shipping up to $2.2 billion worth of (mostly old Soviet) weapons from private dealers to US-backed Syrian militants, but is actually manipulating paperwork such as end-user certificates in order to conceal the ultimate destinations of the weaponry (in this case Syria).

"Never Forget" - A Marine Reflects On The Lies Of Our Endless Wars

While I remained at my headquarters unit in Virginia, my friend embarked on multiple tours of duty within a short two years as a Marine infantryman. I remember even then being surprised and unsettled by how rapidly his overseas deployments came. He was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq on his third deployment overseas prior to his twenty-first birthday. He had selflessly tried to stop a car laden with explosives as it sped into his checkpoint, possibly preventing more deaths among the nearby group of Marines wounded in the attack.

Paul Wolfowitz, considered one of the chief architects of the Iraq War, attended my friend’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. More recently, Wolfowitz spent last year's anniversary of the 9/11 attack on NBC’s Meet the Press shamelessly arguing that he and the Bush administration had done nothing wrong in selling the war and were honest with the American people.

Losing in Syria, the US will target Russia more than ever

The spectacular victory this week for Syrian state forces and allies liberating Deir ez-Zor portends an end to the war. But celebrations should be tempered by the realization that the enemies of Syria will shift their agenda for conflict elsewhere.

If we segregate the many protagonists in Syria’s conflict, the two main rivals to emerge from the melee are the United States and Russia. Russia may have gained the upper hand in Syria. But, ironically, winning the peace in Syria may unleash wars elsewhere.

Reports that US military forces have been airlifting insurgents out of harm’s way in Syria suggest that Washington is saving its terrorist assets to fight another day, perhaps in some other unfortunate country targeted for regime change.

There has been growing scrutiny over Angela Merkel’s nation’s trade surplus, which has provoked anger from the United States’ president, but the balance sheet for 2017 will add fuel to that fire.

Over the course of the year Germany will sell more across its borders than even they expected with reports claiming exports have hit a “breathtaking rate since the financial and economic crisis”.

While firms, employees and the treasury have all seen the benefit, anger is growing from trading partners over the burgeoning account surplus.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem isn't that Germany makes and sells products other nations want, but that the United States no longer does!

Trump Dumps the Do-Nothing Congress

Donald Trump is president today because he was seen as a doer not a talker. Among the most common compliments paid him in 2016 was, “At least he gets things done!”

And it was exasperation with a dithering GOP Congress, which had failed to enact his or its own agenda, that caused Trump to pull the job of raising the debt ceiling away from Republican contractors Ryan & McConnell, and give it to Pelosi & Schumer.

Blue State Blues: The Week Donald Trump Restored the Republic

When he rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and invited Congress to replace it, Trump returned the legislative power to its rightful branch. And when he struck a surprise deal with Democrats to lift the debt ceiling until December, he restored — however briefly — the basic comity necessary for our system to function.

Both of these moves were controversial — and confusing. Conservatives wondered, for good reason, whether Trump had rescinded DACA only to let Congress pass a blanket amnesty for its beneficiaries. And they asked themselves what had become of their party’s hopes to rein in the national debt, which helped fuel the Tea Party wave of 2010.

How Kim Jong-un would escape in caves if a nuclear war occurs

This is a really cheesy story focusing on how Kim Jong-un and his favorite stash of Swiss Cheese will be very difficult for the US to take out.

NORTH Korean dictator Kim Jong-un will escape to a vast complex of underground tunnels if a nuclear war breaks out — with a huge supply of his favourite cheese.

Aiden Foster-Carter, an expert on North Korea and honorary senior research fellow in Sociology and Modern Korea at Leeds University, said that Kim Jong un is unlikely to go without his favourite treats in the event of war.

He added that the dictator had to retreat from public life after eating too much Emmental cheese after receiving a huge shipment of it from Switzerland.

When asked about whether Kim will stockpile his favourite cheese, he added: “I’m sure that wherever he goes he’ll be provided for.”

Donald Trump is NOT mentally ill, says the man who wrote the manual on psychiatric disorders as he slams 'armchair diagnoses' as 'biased'

Dr Allen Frances was chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University when he oversaw the task force to build today's psychiatry manual.

He has been scathing about the president, branding him a narcissist and ruthless self-promoter.

However, he dismisses the scores of 'armchair diagnoses' from health professionals who claim Trump must be mentally ill.

According to Dr Frances, the 72-year-old does not fit the criteria for narcissistic personality disorder, delusional disorder, and dementia - the illnesses most commonly ascribed to him.

Trump sides with Democrats on debt ceiling, budget over GOP objections

Congress must pass a budget by Sept. 30 or the government will run out of money. The debt limit needs to be increased this month. Republican Senate leaders had considered combining the debt limit with emergency aid to help the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, but were vague about the length of the debt limit extension. Democrats, though, pushed for a three-month extension for both the debt limit and the budget. They felt that would give them time to build constituencies for pet projects, notably immigration and spending.

The Donald’s Seinfeld Tax Plan – A Big Show About Nothing

Trump said the tax reform package will be introduced on “Wednesday or shortly thereafter,” just before his 100th day in office. While the president would not reveal details about the tax plan, he did say that the cuts will be “bigger I believe than any tax cut ever.” -- Well, we’ve passed the eighteenth Wednesday since that promise. What was actually delivered back then, of course, was a one-page statement of vague principles, fond aspirations and apple pie.

The Book”The Trump Prophesies” A Honest Review

This is an authentic book that is genuine. This is not a fortune teller book looking into the future. It is not written to make the average christian to feel warm and fuzzy in a comfortable life. It is written for the motivated disciple of Jesus who wants to take ground back that was lost by sharing the good news of Jesus. It is not a book to make the Sunday pew warming experience more meaningful. This book is not meant for those who are in the comfort zone in the four walls of the church. It is a book to spiritually equip the member of the body of Christ for individual ministry. To prepare the believer to be commissioned into the Army of God who are ready to get their hands dirty in the endeavor to spread the Christian faith and reclaim America for Jesus.

Martin Luther King Jr. – The Power of Non-violence

As an astute observer of history I can’t help but recognize that there is a pattern playing out again before our very eyes that we have seen before. A series of events that seam to be pushing the country ever further apart. This pattern is one of division and control. As I have said many times on my radio broadcast, the most effective way to bring this country down is to rip it apart from the inside. To have it tear itself apart piece by piece via the citizens themselves. It is for this reason I have taken part of an interview Martin Luther King Jr. did as well as parts from two speeches he gave and put them together so you can all hear from Reverend King himself about the power of non-violence in activism. His words echo through time from the 1960s straight through to today. We would all be wise to pay heed to what Reverend King had to say.

Is U.S. Congress Declaring War on WikiLeaks?

The latest Senate Intelligence Authorization Act (SB 1761), which was released by the committee on August 18 when few senators were in town, is in the nature of a routine document. It notably calls for “more” in terms of both probing and revealing Russian spying and alleged aggression, but that was to be expected due to the current panic over Moscow and its intentions. It will nevertheless almost certainly become law even though few members of congress will actually bother to read any part of it. The bill has already been approved by the Senate Intelligence Committee and will likely go immediately to a vote in the full Senate when that body reconvenes after the August recess. It will almost certainly be approved unanimously.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Senator Wyden had substituted the word "embarrassment" for the word "damage", he would be bang spot on.

And to answer the question at the top of the article, the short answer is, unequivocally, yes; Congress wants find a way to sidestep, if not eviscerate, the First Amendment just as intensely as it can, so no real truth can ever again compete with the Deep State's agendas and narratives, which many times have absolutely no relationship to the truth of what they are doing.

Anyone reading this remember how Bush lied about "Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction" in order to push American into a war with Iraq, when the real objective was controlling its pipelines, and insure that the only money for which the oil was sold was the US dollar?

This kind of Deep State agenda is consistently ongoing, which is why we appear to be on the brink of war against Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, and God only knows against who else.

The hard truth about what this country has become since 9/11, with the stripping down of the fundamental freedoms and responsibilities accorded us by the Constitution and Bill of Rights;surveillance in every home, cell phone and computer, coupled with these incessant wars for global hegemony, has, many times, been difficult to write about.

But that being said, I will continue to speak out against where I believe my government is not acting in the best interests of We the People, document it as well as I can, and share it on this blog.

But this bill, should it pass with the following language still there, "WikiLeaks and the senior leadership of WikiLeaks resemble a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors and should be treated as such a service by the United States.”,will conclusively be the death knell for free speech in this country, and open the door for intense prosecution of those who post on information line which does not conform to the Deep State's liking; and that will put this country, and the world, in a very dangerous place indeed.

Will Nikki Haley Replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State?

Rex Tillerson's controversial comments—including his statement that "the president speaks for himself" on the violence in Charlottesville, Va.—are leading to speculation that the secretary of state may soon go the way of Anthony Scaramucci and Steve Bannon (that is to say: out).

As for who might replace him, the frontrunner seems to be UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who, Politico reported in April, had been offered the post of secretary of state back in November. Haley reportedly turned the job down because she felt she lacked the requisite foreign policy experience. Over the past few months, however, she has been much more vocal on diplomatic issues than the actual secretary of state.

US TROOPS IN SYRIA BATTLE ANTI-ASSAD REBELS ONCE FUNDED BY THE CIA

American troops deployed in Syria have exchanged fire with rebels that were until recently supported by the United States Central Intelligence Agency. In 2013, soon after the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, the then-US President Barack Obama instructed the Central Intelligence Agency to provide covert support to fighters in Syria. Acting on the president’s directive, the CIA promptly joined forces with spy agencies from Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to assist fighters affiliated with the Free Syrian Army. At that time, Washington saw the Free Syrian Army and forces affiliated with it as ideologically moderate. It also agreed with the group’s main aim, which was to topple the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The top political news on Friday was the unexpected resignation of Trump campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, which was the result of emerging revelations that his political consulting firm, DMP International, had orchestrated a covert Washington lobbying operation in the period 2012-2014 on behalf of Ukraine's then ruling political party, attempting to sway American public opinion in favor of the country's pro-Russian government (which was overthrown in a CIA-orchestrated coup in early 2014).

President Trump has had his foreign policy hands and feet tied by the Russia (and Iran) Sanctions Act.

When politicians are feeling the heat, they start a war and their popularity goes up even if the war is unnecessary or completely ridiculous. Ron Paul: Will Congress and Trump Declare War on WikiLeaks?

The Senate Intelligence Committee recently passed its Intelligence Authorization Act for 2018 that contains a chilling attack on the First Amendment. Section 623 of the act expresses the “sense of Congress” that WikiLeaks resembles a “non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors and should be treated as such.” This language is designed to delegitimize WikiLeaks, encourage the federal government to spy on individuals working with WikiLeaks, and block access to WikiLeaks’ website. This provision could even justify sending US forces abroad to arrest WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange or other WikiLeaks personnel.

Trump’s Defining Moments

Aug 25 09:39

THE ILLEGALITY OF TRUMP’S AFGHANISTAN WAR

When President Trump attributed his flip-flop on Afghanistan to his team of military generals , who informed him that a withdrawal from America’s 16-year war would leave a “haven” for terrorists, I couldn’t help but think of former presidential candidate George Romney during the Vietnam War. After opposing the war, Romney traveled to Vietnam and returned with the same flip-flop mindset that Trump has experienced. Like Trump, Romney blamed it on the generals, who, he said, had “brainwashed” him into supporting the war. Romney’s brainwashing, however, wasn’t permanent, as Romney later returned to an antiwar position. So maybe there’s hope that the same thing will happen to Trump.

There is one important point, however, that we must continue to emphasize, even though it is continuously ignored by the Washington establishment: the illegality of Trump’s War (and Bush’s and Obama’s Wars before him), given that there is no congressional declaration of war.

As First NAFTA Round Opens in Secrecy, Digital Rights Groups Fear Another TPP

he opening round of a series of negotiations over a proposed revised North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) began this week in Washington, D.C. between trade representatives from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Already it is clear that the office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has ignored our specific recommendations (to say nothing of USTR Robert Lighthizer’s personal promises) about making the negotiations more open and transparent. Once again, following the failed model of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the USTR will be keeping the negotiating texts secret, and in an actual regression from the TPP will be holding no public stakeholder events alongside the first round. This may or may not set a precedent for future rounds, that will rotate between the three countries every few weeks thereafter, with a scheduled end date of mid-2018.

'Lying to Congress': Trump lashes out at former spymaster over CNN comments

US President Donald Trump has fired back at former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, bringing up his testimony before Congress, after Clapper told CNN that Trump was unfit to be president and should resign.

“James Clapper, who famously got caught lying to Congress, is now an authority on Donald Trump. Will he show you his beautiful letter to me?” the president tweeted Thursday morning. It was not immediately clear which letter he was referring to.

The “lying to Congress” part was apparently a reference to the 2013 Congressional hearing, where Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) asked Clapper if the National Security Agency collected data on millions of Americans.

“No, sir ... not wittingly,” Clapper answered.

Soon thereafter, Edward Snowden’s revelations showed that the NSA did, in fact, collect data on millions of Americans.
